This is the easiest trap for new mole trappers to use. It is easy to set up
correctly. It works great in sandy
and clay soils that have few rocks or debris. It does have a strong spring so
if your hands are not strong this may not be a trap for you.
For a booklet on trapping moles that discusses how to use the harpoon trap
effectively, click Mole Trapping Booklet The
number one reason why people are not successful in trapping moles is due to
LACK of TRAINING in TRAPPING MOLES.
Safety:
- Always make sure the spikes are set in the soil. When the trap is set, the
spike tips should always be imbedded in the soil. Failure to follow this advice
can have severe consequences if the trap fires with a child's hand nearby.
- Never move the trap when it is in the cocked or set position.
- For added safety place a five galloon plastic bucket over the set trap.
Place a brick on the top of the buck or stake it down. This will add safety
to the trap.
